I had the pleasure of working with some beautiful products from Ruby St Designs and created these four projects. The first project is a tag featuring Paper Relic images, a pin, ribbon and a tiny ribbon slide. The second project is a card featuring Daisy D Vintage labels, Daisy D rub-on words and velvet ribbon. The third project is a wall hanging featuring a Daisy D vintage label, a clock sticker, a Paper Relic image and Tim Holtz grungeboard. The final project is a mini-book entitled "The Ball", the inspiration for this piece were a vintage ticket to a dance and a vintage dance card. The mini-book features Paper Relic images, a Foof-A-La applique, K & Company frames, a tag, Tim Holtz grungeboard, German glass glitter, buttons, a library pocket, a vintage millinery rose and vintage plastic crowns. The library pocket holds the dance ticket and dance card. These projects can be seen in the Ruby St Designs Art Gallery along with the wonderful work of my fellow design team members.

ATC Challenge : Week 20

Week_20_atc_challenge

This is the ATC I made for Week 20 of The Great ATC Challenge on Blue Bazaar. The card category is: Fashion Accessories and the theme is: Shoes. The challenge details can be found here.

This ATC features a chipboard title and gorgeous shoes by Provocraft.  In keeping with the feminine nature of the card, pretty embossed paper and pink handstitched seed beads were used to add interest.

ATC Challenge : Week 19

Week_19_atc_challenge

This is the ATC I made for Week 19 of The Great ATC Challenge on Blue Bazaar. The card category is: The Four Seasons and the theme is: Spring. The challenge details can be found here.

I love this little bird, he reminds me of Spring. I created the bird image using a Crafty Secrets stamp and Versafine ink. The scalloped MDF circle frame is by Scrapware. I used vintage flower stamen as flowers and tied them together with a brass bow.

Thank You and Congratulations

I would like to thank everyone who left a comment on my "Mini Calendar and A Prize" post. I appreciate your kind words.

My daughter and I have just conducted a random draw and the winner of the Scrapware prize is Pips (Jac). Congratulations Pips, you have won a set of the Scrapware chipboard pieces required to make your own mini calendar.  Also included in your prize pack are all the decorative elements required to complete the calendar. I hope that you enjoy your prize.

A full set of instructions for making the mini calendar  will be posted on the Scrapware blog in due course.

ATC Challenge : Week 18

Week_18_atc_challenge

This is the ATC I made for Week 18 of The Great ATC Challenge on Blue Bazaar. The card category is: Flea Market and the theme is: Vintage Paper and Photos. The challenge details can be found here.

When our son Benjamin was a tiny tot his favorite story was "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny" by Beatrix Potter. This card celebrates Ben's love of this classic story. To create the ATC I used a vintage playing card, a reproduction of a vintage photo and an old clothing label. The remaining components are not vintage except perhaps for the rabbit.

Mini Calendar and A Prize

Scrapware_5bl

Scrapware_5al

I made this tiny, palm sized calender using Scrapware's new chipboard ATC bases and a piece of Teresa Collins calender paper. Each monthly motif of the calender paper was trimmed to size and attached to an ATC base that had been painted with black acrylic paint. An additional ATC base was painted with black acrylic paint and used as a cover for the calendar. A Designs Galore floral image was attached to the cover. An embossed and painted Scrapware ATC frame was used to frame the floral image. The embossing on the frame was highlighted with Treasure Gold wax gilt. Holes were punched in the top left hand corner of the cover and the calender pages. The cover and pages were then bound together using a gold tassel. A piece of hat elastic, decorated with a few beads, was used to keep the calender closed.

To celebrate the release of the new Scrapware range at SIA, the owner of Scrapware has made available a prize for me to give away on my blog. On offer is an ATC kit containing the chipboard pieces required to make the calender shown above and some additional ATC sized chipboard shapes. If you would like a chance to win this lovely prize (and are an Australian resident), please leave a comment at the end of this post. On Sunday the 13th of April, a random winner will be drawn from those who have left a post.

ATC Challenge : Week 17

Week_17_atc_challenge

This is the ATC I made for Week 17 of The Great ATC Challenge on Blue Bazaar. The card category is: Destinations and the theme is: The Americas. The challenge details can be found here.

You may well be scratching your heads as this card does not seem to match the theme. Let me explain. When my husband and I went to Europe for a two month holiday in 1992, we decided to stop off in the US for three days on the way home. You see, we both wanted to fulfill our dreams of visiting America's favorite theme parks.  We spent those three days in Florida visiting the Epcott Centre, Universal Studios and Disney World. We embraced the magic of these places with open arms and let ourselves become filled with childlike wonder over everything we saw. It was a magical experience and the memory of those three days still makes my heart sing. This card captures the way I felt while visiting the theme parks, it was as though I was living in my own beautiful little fairy tale.

ATC Challenge : Week 16

Week_16_atc_challenge

This is the ATC I made for Week 16 of The Great ATC Challenge on Blue Bazaar. The card category is: Fashion Accessories and the theme is: Bags. The challenge details can be found here.

I love handbags, especially evening bags. My favorite is made of white fabric with black and charcoal floral sprays. It has a black satin handle and rhinestone set clasps.

My evening bag inspired this ATC. I used a Scrapware ATC base and scalloped frame as foundation pieces for this card. The handbag image was created using a Hero Arts stamp, the rub-on and paper are by 7 gypsies and the German scrap is by ArtChix Studio.

March Scrapware Projects

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Ange, the owner of Scrapware last week. I learnt so much about the processes used to design and cut chipboard/MDF/acrylic shapes. As I love to create ATCs and the odd Inchie, Ange cut me some chipboard ATC blanks, ATC frames and Inchies to play with. These products will be released at SIA in April along with smaller sized chipboard versions of some of Scrapware's existing designs. The smaller sized designs are particularly suitable for use on ATCs and greeting cards. Ange has also been busy designing a number of beautiful new ranges especially for scrapbookers.

The four ATCs shown here are all made using the chipboard ATC bases. The first ATC features an ATC frame and a smaller sized version of one of Scrapware's gorgeous chipboard scrolls. The second ATC features the chipboard Inchies. The Inchies were covered in cardstock and dry embossed using the Cuttlebug machine. The third ATC is a replica of a card I made previously, but now features the ATC frame's chipboard center as well as the center of the new smaller sized chipboard scalloped circle frame as structural components. The fourth, and final ATC, features one of Scrapware's new chipboard words.

If you will be attending SIA, make sure you stop by the Scrapware stall to see the wonderful new products and to see the amazing projects created by the design team.

Beading

Beaded_cards_feature

These cards are in the latest issue of Stamping & Papercraft (Vol 13 No 6) as part of a feature on beading. I used Green Grass Stamps to create the stamped images, the Cuttlebug to produce the embossed backgrounds and tiny brown seed beads to create a hand-beaded border. The wonderfully romantic images are by ArtChix Studio and the flower is by Prima. I am so happy with the styling and photography of my cards, the Stamping & Papercraft team set and maintain such a high standard.
